One dead and two injured at PMB Public Works Department

A man was killed and two others injured on Friday morning after a shooting incident at the Department of Public Works on Prince Alfred Road in Pietermaritzburg.
Pietermaritzburg police spokesperson Sergeant Mthokozisi Ngobese a department of public works employee was being dropped at work by her cousin when a man drove up behind them and began arguing with the woman.
The man then parked beside them at the parking lot, and began firing shots into the car before turning the gun on himself. 
Paramedics from various services arrived on the scene and were lead to a light motor vehicle where they found the patients.
Upon assessment, they found a woman lying inside a light motor vehicle, while two men were found lying outside.
Paramedics assessed the patients and found that the man alleged to have shot himself sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head and was declared dead on the scene.
The woman and the other man were also assessed and found to have sustained numerous gunshot wounds, and were in a critical condition.
Once stabilised, the two patients were transported to nearby hospitals for urgent treatment.

Local authorities were on the scene, to investigate further.
