MATRICS at Willowfontein School will write their final examinations in renovated classrooms this year.
This was made possible by Maritzburg United Football Club, who renovated six classrooms through their Corporate Social Investment initiative.

Team of Choice spokesperson Brian Zuma, who was at the school last Wednesday to do the official handover, said the team’s initiatives were being done to give back.
Zuma said the team runs several CSI initiatives such as the project where they identify needy families and give them groceries.
He said they also worked with Shoprite where they delivered 200 groceries to families in Copesville and Northdale.

Zuma said when the school committee approached their office, the team management decided to renovate the classrooms as they have a responsibility to give back to the community.
School governing body chairperson, Mazwi Ngubane thanked the three teachers who initiated the relationship with Maritzburg United.

Zuma promised pupils and teachers that Maritzburg United players will be visiting the school soon to paint two extra classes.
