The Finance Department has dismissed reports that the new
Minister, Malusi Gigaba, has signed a nuclear deal.
Addressing his first news conference in Pretoria at the
weekend, Gigaba said he would not be reckless when it
came to funding for plans to add more nuclear power to the
country's energy mix.
Speaking to a news source, Gigaba's spokesperson Mayihlome Tshwete said the Department of Energy has not even gone to Cabinet to brief them on the situation.
