A woman died after the vehicle she was travelling in veered
off the road and overturned, its twisted remains landing on the grass verge while she was still trapped inside.
The incident took place on Old Main Road in Pinetown, yesterday morning.
A Netcare911 rescue officer attended the scene, where he found the woman driver lying on the driver side of the vehicle.
The rescue officer had to use the Jaws of life to free the patient, who was then stabilised on scene before being rushed through to a local hospital for further medical attention, where she later died.
Exact details to the cause of this incident are clear at this stage, however, local authorities are investigating.
